The wave of love that suddenly covers you when you welcome your baby into the world is indescribable. It’s something that can only be experienced or reverently observed. If you’ve experienced it, it’s easy to recognize in others. These guys are swimming in it.

Happy 1st Birthday, Riker!

Usually, these sessions will have a little break for the baby breakdown…not a dance (though, I wish it were a dance!), but an emotional breakdown. It’s pretty standard. Kid’s are cool with the camera until they just aren’t anymore and then they let you know it. No big deal, just part of the routine baby shoot. So, I was pretty amazed at how easygoing little Riker was. He didn’t complain. Didn’t cry. Didn’t even notice me too much, making my job incredibly easy-peasy. And the cherry on top was that he was smiling the whole time! Stellar!

Angela and Jason

We cut it pretty close, but we were able to fit in a maternity shoot before Angela’s delivery! I’m so glad we did. During the shoot I kept thinking (and saying out loud), “You guys are so ridiculously good looking…it’s just silly.” They were both glowing! You can see the joy and excitement that overflowed from the anticipation for the arrival of their baby boy who was to be born literally at any time! Their love and connection is so sweet. I can only imagine how it will carry over to their little one. And I am so happy for how their hearts will grow when he finally arrives in that sacred moment. Everything will change. Amongst the Flowers: Baby Jane

One of my favorite things about being a photographer is when I get the opportunity to photograph kids over time. And one of my favorite subjects to photograph is the special bond between parents and their little ones. So, this session just makes my  day. Baby Jane just gets sweeter each time I see her.   It’s always a treat!

Life is pretty simple right now.

Eat, sleep, play, repeat…with the occasional visit from our birth team and meals shared with friends and family. It’s a sweet and peaceful time for our us.

Our little baby’s due date is on Valentines Day. We are having a home birth so we are in heavy preparation mode just in case he comes early. And I am nesting like a crazy mama bird. He could arrive anytime. But as my midwife says, “Babies come out when they are ready,” So…I need to work on being still during this time of anticipation.

Lord, help me to be present for each breath you give me.

Jessie: Maternity Shoot

The countdown is on.

The Maron family eagerly awaits the arrival of their 3rd baby! What a joy it was to take some maternity photos and to celebrate with them. And how sweet to be able to do the shoot at Jessie’s parent’s home and to snap a few of mamma with her father.
